TRANSLATION FACILITIES
We have appointed a Community Translator who offers
a written translation service, a simultaneous translation
service, an editing service as well as advising you
on how to go about producing bilingual material and
the grants available to help you. All this by a qualified
and professional translator. You can also rent our simultaneous
translation equipment which is easy to carry and assemble.
The prices range depending on the establishment using

Group 1 –
voluntary and community organisations with less
than 2 members of staff:
Written translation: anything
up to 1,000 words free for the first 6 months,
then £20 per thousand words.
Simultaneous translation: the
first hour free then £10 an hour.
Renting simultaneous translation
£15 per box (20 headsets) per day.

Editing: £6 per 1,000 words. |
Group
2 – non-profit-making organisations and
local businesses with between 2 and 10 members
of staff:
Written translation: £20
per 1,000. Small translations free (business cards,
letter heads etc).
Simultaneous translation: £20
an hour.
Renting simultaneous translation
£25 per box (20 headsets) per day.

non-profit-making organisations with more than
10 members of employed, full-time staff:
Written translation: £35
per 1,000.
Simultaneous translation: £25
an hour.
Renting simultaneous translation
£35 per box (20 headsets) per day.

Editing: £12 per 1,000. |
Group 4 –
commercial organisations:
Written translation: £50
per 1,000.
Simultaneous translation: £30
an hour.
Renting simultaneous translation
£50 per box (20 headsets) per day.
equipment:
Editing: £15 per 1,000. |
At least seven days notice is required for simultaneous
translation.
Renting equipment also requires as much notice as possible.
